To us, a digital detox is quality time, spent immersing yourself in nature, activities, friendships. Away from all - or let's be realistic and say many - digital distractions and disruption that we've all become too accustomed to. There are countless different options but most fall in one of two categories.

Activities That By Their Nature Are Disconnecting You From Your Devices

Trips that make it easy to disconnect yourself. Like immersing yourself into learning something new. A new Language maybe (Spanish in Guatemala anyone?). Or going on scuba diving trips, multi-day hikes, desert safaris, you get the idea.

Skiing used to rank high on this list. But it's also an example of how the advent of popular skiing apps and ubiquitous Wifi have transformed the experience. It's still a fantastic option though. Maybe just don't install the apps..

Why should anyone go on a digital detox trip?

Our strongest memories are formed not just by observing things with our eyes but when all our senses participate actively. When our brain’s synapses all fire at the same time. Leaving digital devices behind will open up a door, a fast track to reconnect with your environment. Like any detox it might feel a little strange at first but soon enough it’ll turn into the new normal. If you’ve ever been to a music festival or camped on a family holiday you may have experienced something similar. You may have gotten used to the routine of brushing your teeth outside and not having four proper walls around you quite quickly. It might even have felt like you could have stayed forever (cursing the boss who expected you back at work on Monday!).

A digital detox will take you away from your day-to-day routine and help you reconnect with yourself and others.
